The President of the USA, Donald Trump, expressed the desire to become the successor of Pope Francis, who passed away last week. This was reported by Reuters, citing a statement from Trump.

However, Trump emphasized that he actually has no specific preferences for the future Pope and noted: 'I must say, we have a cardinal who turned out to be from New York and who is very good, so we will see what happens.'
Pope Francis passed away at the age of 88. The cause of death was a stroke due to chronic illnesses. Before his death, he had pneumonia as well as respiratory crises. He was buried according to his wishes in a simple grave in the Roman Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
Currently, discussions are underway about who can replace Pope Francis.
