Analysts reported new price dynamics for milk: what consumers can expect in June.

The prices for raw milk in Ukraine remain stable
As of May 22, the average price per kilogram of raw milk in Ukraine amounted to 15.97 hryvnias, which is three kopecks less compared to the previous month. According to the analyst of the Milk Producers Association, Georgiy Kukhaleishvili, prices for different grades of milk have slightly decreased.
The most expensive extra-grade milk costs on average 16.12 hryvnias per kilogram, which is three kopecks less than a month ago.
Higher-grade milk has decreased by two kopecks and now costs an average of 15.93 hryvnias per kilogram. Prices for this category vary from 15.30 to 16.20 hryvnias per kilogram. The price of first-grade milk has remained unchanged at 15.60 hryvnias per kilogram.
Surplus of raw milk in the Ukrainian market
According to the expert, there are certain surpluses of raw milk in the Ukrainian market, ensuring full demand for goods. Although there is a threat of an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Central and Eastern Europe, which could lead to a significant drop in prices for raw milk in Ukraine due to quarantine measures and a ban on the export of finished products.
A sharp drop in prices is unlikely in the short term, as Ukrainian exporters will have enough duty-free quotas in the EU market in June.
It is expected that the production volumes of raw milk will decrease in June, which will contribute to price stabilization in the market. Despite stable prices for raw milk, it should be noted that the cost of dairy products in supermarkets continues to rise.
