Refugees lost access to old Oschadbank cards - what to do.

In July 2025, the state financial institution 'Oschadbank' saw the expiration of some plastic cards, causing citizens, including those abroad, to lose access to their accounts. The bank explained what clients in such a situation should do.
Information about this was published on the bank's social media page on Facebook.
Loss of access to Oschadbank clients' accounts abroad
Several clients lost the ability to use their bank accounts. For example, one client who is abroad was disconnected from his card.
This concerns the account that receives pension payments. Since July 2025, the bank has recommended visiting a branch to issue a new card, which complicates things for those who left Ukraine due to the war, as noted in the message.
What Oschadbank recommends for refugees
According to an employee of Oschadbank's head office, based on the decision of the financial institution, during martial law, some cards received an automatic extension from July 1 to December 31, 2025. This applies to cards whose validity expired starting from February 2022.
However, some clients need to replace their old cards in person at the bank office. This applies to citizens:
- internally displaced persons whose card was active until February 2022;
- whose cards expired from February 2022 to March 2025 and who conducted at least one financial operation in Ukraine in the last two years.
Also, cardholders whose cards have expired and who are currently abroad can check the possibility of extension until the end of the year:
- by calling from their financial phone number to the bank's contact center: 0442478418;
- by making a video call through the bank's website or via Viber.
In addition, cards may be blocked for other reasons. To unblock the card, clients are also advised to call from their financial number to the following contact: 0800210800.
'Oschadbank' clients who are abroad may have problems accessing their accounts due to card expiration. The bank provides recommendations for extending or replacing cards for different categories of clients, including refugees. In such situations, additional contacts can be used to resolve the issue.Read also
