A resident of Zhmerinka was found guilty of evading military service summons during mobilization and sentenced to three years of imprisonment. The prosecution confirmed that the man had every opportunity to serve in the military but refused to do so during the state of war.
“The defendant without valid reason did not appear on the specified date and Time at the territorial center for recruitment and social support for military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the conscript violated the requirements of the current legislation and evaded military conscription. Currently, the verdict has not yet entered into legal force,” the message stated.
This is just one of many criminal cases for evading mobilization. In recent years, the number of such cases has increased significantly, indicating a strengthening of control in this area.

According to information from the State Judicial Administration, since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the number of criminal cases for evading mobilization has sharpely increased. In recent years, the number of verdicts in such cases has also increased, which is an indicator of the deterrent effect against evading military obligations.
