EBRD Begins Purchasing Gas Power Stations for Joint Project with Ukrnafta.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has started the procurement of gas power stations
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has initiated procurement procedures for gas power stations within the framework of a credit and donor agreement with 'Ukrnafta' on its own electronic platform.
'Currently, two procurements have been announced. The first is for the supply of gas engine power stations and cogeneration plants for 3 facilities. These are large stations. The total installed electrical capacity is about 70 MW. The second procurement is announced for the supply of gas engine power stations in containers. Essentially, these are modular installations that can be moved depending on needs. The total electricity output is about 56 MW. Additionally, both lots include the procurement of primary auxiliary equipment and related services,' explains the director of PJSC 'Ukrnafta' Serhiy Koretsky. - Procurement through the EBRD platform means that the highest standards of competitive selection, transparency, and integrity will be adhered to.'
This is the first stage of implementing distributed generation projects at 'Ukrnafta'. After the procurement of equipment, procedures for purchasing contractor services will begin, which will carry out all necessary construction and installation works.
Overall, the production, delivery, and installation of gas engine power stations are planned for 2025.
In the context of constant Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system, new generating capacities will become an important element for ensuring energy resilience.
The project is financed through an EBRD loan, co-financed with the involvement of investment grants from the Netherlands, the USA, and the Kingdom of Norway, as well as a special technical cooperation grant.
