Expert explained how long the power outage schedules will last in Ukraine.

Ukrainians have been informed that the recovery of the energy system, which suffered from enemy attacks, will take 3-4 days. This was stated by the head of the Union of Consumer Services Oleg Popenko. The energy infrastructure has suffered the most after the Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities. Ukrenergo and Yasno warned about power outages starting November 18, but these outages may continue into the next week.
'The situation will look like this: we need a few days, possibly 3-4 days, to fully restore operations. But under these circumstances, outages will remain until the end of the week,' Popenko said.
It is noted that the objects of energy infrastructure that provide peak electricity consumption in the morning and evening have suffered the most. The main task is to restore its own generation, not just the 'Ukrenergo' infrastructure.
Popenko noted that the import of electricity in the EU is five times more expensive than in Ukraine, and this leads to losses for Ukrainian energy companies. Therefore, it is very important to reduce dependence on imports and restore domestic generation. It is likely that outages may last not only this week, but also next week.
