LGBT Festival During Easter. Even Deputy Hetmancev Did Not Restrain Himself.

Hetmancev Condemns the Holding of the Queer Cinema Festival in Kyiv

Chairman of the Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy Committee Danilo Hetmancev condemned the holding of the queer cinema festival in Kyiv. The politician expressed his outrage regarding the event taking place on Good Friday and the Easter holidays. He also recalled that last year a similar festival was planned for the day of remembrance of the victims of the Holodomor.

The Third Queer Cinema Festival Sunny Bunny

This year, the third queer cinema festival Sunny Bunny took place in Kyiv from April 18 to 25. The festival showcased feature films about gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender individuals, and other members of the LGBTQI+ community.

The holding of the event coinciding with Easter sparked mixed reactions. Many people, especially believers, expressed their outrage, considering it an egregious violation of religious feelings. However, there are also those who support holding the event during the holidays.

It is worth mentioning that last year's festival 'Queer Propaganda Fest' also faced public resistance and was postponed from the day of remembrance of the victims of the Holodomor.

However, it should be noted that priest Oleksiy Filiuk of the Ternopil Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, known for his videos on limiting church superstitions, expressed his negative attitude towards same-sex marriages in an interview. Thus, the issue of LGBTQ rights and its perception in society remains relevant.
