Yaroslava Mahuchikh won gold at the second consecutive stage of the Diamond League season.


Yaroslava Mahuchikh claimed victory at the Diamond League stage in China
High jumper from Ukraine, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, won at the second stage of the Diamond League in Shanghai, China. The 23-year-old athlete from Dnipro cleared a height of 2.00 meters on her first attempt, securing first place.
She outperformed Australians Nicola Olyslagers (1.98 meters) and Eleanor Patterson (1.95 meters) to become the champion of the competition.
Yuliya Levchenko, another Ukrainian athlete, finished in fourth place with a personal season record (1.92 meters).
At the previous stage of the Diamond League, Mahuchikh also won, clearing a height of 1.97 meters. She attempted to break the competition record in Xiamen by setting the bar at 2.03 meters but was unable to achieve this in three attempts.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh is one of the first participants in the new competition format - the World Athletics Ultimate Championship, which will be held in September 2026 in Budapest.
