Mother built a church in memory of the fallen soldier-son.

The first church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine was opened in Petrykivka
In the village of Petrykivka in Dnipropetrovsk region, the first church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) was opened. The church was built with funds donated by the mother of the fallen soldier Kostyantyn Tezyk. This was reported by 'Radio Svoboda'.
Kostyantyn Tezyk, a grenadier of the 92nd separate assault brigade named after Ivan Sirko, served in Kharkiv region and participated in the liberation of border villages from occupation. Later, Kostyantyn was transferred to the Achilles strike drone company. On October 31, 2023, Kostyantyn was killed during a night shelling by Russian forces near Klishchiivka near Bakhmut.
The idea of building a church in honor of the fallen soldiers came to Kostyantyn's mother on the day of her son's funeral. At that Time, a priest from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) was invited for the funeral service, since there were no other churches in the village. However, Kostyantyn's friend told his mother, 'Kostyantyn would not have been pleased with this'.
'We decided that this church would be in honor of the fallen soldiers - they deserve it,' emphasizes Iryna, Kostyantyn's mother.
Earlier in the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the OCU in Lutsk, where restoration is ongoing, portraits of Volyn businessmen were depicted.
Earlier, a priest explained why his parishioners refused to pray in Ukrainian.
