In Poltava region, a man ignored the summons because he feared becoming a 'burden for the Armed Forces of Ukraine'.


A man in the Poltava region was sentenced for refusing mobilization due to his age. According to a decision by the Zinkiv District Court of Poltava region, he was sentenced to two years of probation.
In March 2024, the man received a mobilization summons, but he refused. His age was disregarded.
In court, the man admitted his guilt, stating that he is 50 years old, has one eye, has not served in the army, and has grandchildren. He claimed that due to his condition, he would only become a burden for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The court reviewed the materials and convicted him under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Previously, in the Rivne region, a local resident was found guilty of refusing conscription during mobilization and was sentenced to 4 years and 4 months of imprisonment.
Also, in the Rivne region, a local unemployed person was convicted for evading conscription during mobilization. He received a sentence of 4 years and 4 months of imprisonment.
In Kyiv, a reservist from Donetsk who evaded conscription during mobilization was found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison.
In Vinnytsia region, a reservist refused to fight due to poverty and lack of family. In Khmelnytskyi, a local man was found guilty of evading mobilization, and his property was confiscated, except for his home.
Ukrainian courts require individuals convicted of evading conscription during mobilization to fulfill their duty and fight.
