Ukrainian customs officers during the inspection of a truck carrying ice cream discovered an unusual cargo. Instead of ice cream, there were cigarettes and alcoholic beverages in the containers. The vehicle arrived at the 'Orlivka' checkpoint and was headed for Israel.
The customs officers noticed the unusual density of the plastic containers during the scanning of the vehicle. Instead of ice cream, there were cigarettes with excise markings from Ukraine and unmarked liquid containing alcohol.
A full customs inspection is currently underway to determine the quantity and search for other undeclared goods in order to identify possible customs violations.
This is not the first Time that customs officers have found undeclared goods during vehicle inspections. Previously, at the 'Yahodyn' customs, nearly 28 thousand stones resembling diamonds were discovered hidden in the cavity of a bus. Also, at the 'Shehyni-Medika' customs, undeclared excise goods were found in a 'Heb - Kyiv' bus. Each box containing smoking liquid had a note in Russian asking Saint Nicholas for protection.
It is also important to note that Kyiv customs officers successfully seized illegally exported unique samples of amber.
