The controversial deputy and Olympic champion stated that she "does not want to try living on a pension".

Three-Time Olympic champion in figure skating, State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina expressed her opinion on pensions in Russia. She noted that she has never tried to live on a pension of 20 thousand, so she cannot assess whether it is possible. Rodnina stated that she does not want to retire and wishes to remain an active person.
75-year-old Rodnina also expressed her position regarding the fact that pensioners should receive more money, as they have dedicated their lives to work for their homeland. According to her, a pension of 20 thousand is very little, as utility bills already cost 5-6 thousand. Rodnina called for increasing pensions to at least 60 thousand, which is a reasonable amount.
Russian footballer Vladimir Ponomaryov also expressed his opinion regarding the low level of pension payments in Russia. He believes that current pensions are unfair, as it is difficult for pensioners to live on 20 thousand, considering the costs of utilities. Ponomaryov called for raising pensions to at least 60 thousand so that pensioners could live with dignity.
He also mentioned that he personally has enough funds to live only on his pension.
Russian occupant Alexander Rabotnitsky, who served in Donbass, had a diagnosis of 'organic brain damage'. His friends and colleagues were surprised to learn that he was assigned to the war with such a diagnosis. Rabotnitsky had problems with his apartment and housing, and his relatives sympathize with him. After finishing his professional career, he became addicted to gambling.
