Greenland will meet with Denmark after Trump's statement about control over the island
Mute Egede, the leader of Greenland, will meet with the Danish king in Copenhagen following the statement by the newly elected US President Donald Trump regarding the intention to annex the Arctic island to the United States. Trump, who will take office on January 20, did not rule out the possibility of using military or economic action on this issue. On the same day, his son, Donald Trump Jr., made a private visit to Greenland.
The leader of Greenland, Mute Egede, arrived in Copenhagen intending to meet with Danish King Frederik. However, the meeting scheduled for January 8 was postponed without explanation.
