Pushkin, Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya and Babel. Odessa allocated funds for the dismantling of 13 monuments.

The deputies of the Odessa City Council have decided to allocate funds for the dismantling of monuments with Russian imperial and Soviet symbolism. The total amount of allocated funds is 200 thousand hryvnias. Of this, 20 thousand will be spent on the demolition of the monument to the Soviet scientist Viktor Glushko, the grave of Red Guards, Alexander II, the Soviet partisan and intelligence officer Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, the bust of Marshal Rodion Malinovsky, Soviet General Ivan Chernyakhovsky, and Soviet pilot Valery Chkalov. An additional 10 thousand hryvnias will be directed to the dismantling of the monument to the Russian writer Isaac Babel, the Soviet military Alexander Marinesko, the Chekist wall, Alexander Pushkin on Primorsky Boulevard and Italian Street 13, as well as the Komsomol members of Odessa region.
It is planned that by the beginning of 2025, documents will be ordered for the design of dismantling and relocation of the monuments.
In September, the head of the Odessa OVA, Oleg Kiper, announced the demolition of the monument to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. This decision contradicts the statement of the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, who stated that the monument cannot be demolished due to its inclusion in the UNESCO register as part of the cultural heritage. However, Kiper did not provide further information about the dismantling of the monument but noted that all the necessary documents have already been sent.
