Relatives of military personnel demand to exchange Onufriy for the wounded after the terrorist attack in Olenivka.

Demand to exchange Onufriy for wounded Ukrainian soldiers
The public organization 'Olenivka Community' calls for the exchange of Metropolitan Onufriy of the Moscow Church in Ukraine for wounded Ukrainian soldiers who were injured as a result of the terrorist attack in Olenivka. The statement was published in 'Glavkom.'
The organization believes that stripping Onufriy of Ukrainian citizenship opens up the possibility for his exchange or indicates readiness for this step. At the same Time, the 'Olenivka Community' urged to return all Ukrainian prisoners of war through negotiations and actions by Ukrainian special services.
This idea of exchanging representatives of the Moscow church for wounded Ukrainian soldiers was previously proposed by the public organization 'Olenivka Community.'
It should be noted that the Ukrainian Security Service revoked Onufriy's citizenship on July 2. It was established that the metropolitan obtained Russian citizenship back in 2002, hiding this information from Ukrainian authorities.
Later, Onufriy stated that he has only a Ukrainian passport and never considered himself a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Terrorist attack in Olenivka colony
In July 2022, Russian occupiers organized a terrorist attack in the Olenivka colony in the occupied territory of Donetsk region. During the attack, 54 fighters of 'Azov' were killed, and another 130 were injured and were receiving treatment. The United Nations confirmed that this terrorist attack was orchestrated by Russia.
The public organization 'Olenivka Community' expressed a call to exchange Metropolitan Onufriy for the wounded Ukrainian soldiers who were affected during the terrorist attack in Olenivka colony. Ukrainian special services had previously considered the possibility of such an exchange, but it awaits resolution. Stripping Onufriy of his citizenship opens up the possibility for such a step, which the organization's activists perceive as an opportunity to help the wounded soldiers.
