Russia is actively sending sabotage and reconnaissance groups to Sumy region for mining and reconnaissance.

Russian saboteurs are trying to penetrate the territory of Ukraine through Sumy region
According to the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko, sabotage and reconnaissance groups from Russia are most likely to attempt to penetrate Ukrainian territory through Sumy region. Among their tasks are mining the terrain, reconnaissance of Ukrainian positions, and capturing Ukrainian military personnel as prisoners.
'The enemy's sabotage activities do not cease, and this is mainly along the borders of Sumy region. Just a few days ago, another attempt by a sabotage and reconnaissance group to enter the territory of Ukraine was thwarted,' Demchenko said.
It is noted that the saboteurs show the most activity in the northern part of Sumy region, areas near Chernihiv region, and south of Sumy region closer to Kharkiv. In the central part of the region, the enemy employs a different tactic - trying to infiltrate the region with small assault groups.
The goal of Russian saboteurs in Ukraine
Demchenko revealed details of the activities of Russian saboteurs. In particular, he noted that the main tasks of the enemy groups include mining the terrain with the aim of exploding Ukrainian military personnel, reconnaissance of Ukrainian defenses, and attacks on Ukrainian soldiers with the aim of capturing them as prisoners.
'To scout positions where our troops are located and how the line of defense is organized in order to strike accurately using more powerful weapons, including drones,' Demchenko explained.
Increase in activity of Russian aviation and drones
The spokesman also noted that there has been an increase in the use of Russian aviation, which conducts strikes on Ukrainian territory using guided and unguided aerial munitions. At the same Time, the number of attacks using drones has significantly increased, creating additional threats for Ukraine.
'In fact, these are strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles, which include drops from drones, as well as fiber-optic drones and FPV drones. They outnumber artillery shelling,' Demchenko emphasized.
It is noted that despite the main focus of sabotages on Sumy region, the threat remains real for Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.
The increase in the activity of Russian saboteurs, the use of aviation and drones indicates a strengthening threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
