Senator Rubio Calls Ukraine War 'Stalemate': Potential Secretary of State Under Trump Urges Its Conclusion.
The Ukrainian war with Russia became the subject of a statement by Marco Rubio, an influential Republican senator from Florida, on the Today program.
The politician, who may become the Secretary of State under the Trump administration, called the conflict a 'stalemate war'.
The Ukrainians have been incredibly brave and strong in standing up to Russia. But, ultimately, what we are financing here is a stalemate war, and it needs to be brought to an end.
The senator emphasized the need for 'common sense' in resolving the conflict. He also commented on Donald Trump's position, who previously stated the potential for ceasing hostilities in Ukraine within 24 hours, noting that 'you don't have to be a fan of Vladimir Putin to want the war to end'.
Marco Rubio noted that it would take about 100 years to rebuild Ukraine. According to The Hill, the senator could become the Secretary of State if Trump succeeds in the elections.
