This has never happened before: Zelensky commented on the ratification of the partnership agreement with the USA.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for the preparation and approval of the economic partnership agreement with the United States. In a message published on social media, the head of state thanked 338 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada who supported the document.

'I expect that the text of the ratification law will come from the Verkhovna Rada to my Office in the near future. The legal procedures will be completed, and we will be able to start creating the fund,'

Zelensky noted.

Agreements between governments for joint investment work for decades

The Ukrainian president emphasized the unprecedented nature of this economic agreement, calling it 'joint investment work with the USA for decades'. According to him, the document lays a solid foundation for security cooperation and opens up prospects for expanding economic cooperation, industrial development, and job creation in both countries.

'As we agreed with President Trump, the agreement opens a new chapter in relations between Ukraine and the United States,'

Zelensky stressed.

Completion of the agreement to establish a joint investment fund

The next step after completing all legal procedures will be to create a joint investment fund, which will allow for the implementation of practical aspects of the agreement.

Recently, US President Donald Trump announced the full ratification of the agreement with Ukraine regarding minerals and announced a future phone call with Volodymyr Zelensky. During a meeting in the Oval Office, the American leader noted: 'We have just completed the mineral agreement with Ukraine. It has been fully ratified and approved by their legislative bodies. And we appreciate that.'

'Trump also added that thanks to this agreement, the USA will gain access to 'a vast amount of very high-quality rare earth elements'. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the agreement with the USA regarding subsoil on May 8, 2025.
