The US president refused peace negotiations if the parties create obstacles

US President Donald Trump stated that the United States will not participate in peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia if obstacles are created to end the war.

'If for some reason one of the parties creates serious obstacles, we will simply say: 'You are foolish, you are terrible people', and refuse to participate at all. But, hopefully it won't come to that,' Trump emphasized.

The US president expressed his optimistic view on the possibility of reaching a peace agreement. 'We really have a good opportunity to reach an agreement between Russia and Ukraine,' he noted, adding that the negotiation process 'is reaching a critical point.'

When asked about Russia's influence on him, Trump replied: 'No one is playing with me. I am trying to help. This is Biden's war.' He also expressed hope that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not dragging his feet regarding peace negotiations.

The US president emphasized his desire to end the hostilities in Ukraine as soon as possible, noting that about 2500 people die weekly in the war. 'We want to stop this brutal slaughter,' he said.

When asked about the timing of the US pulling out of the negotiation process, Trump stated: 'There is no specific number of days, but we want to do it quickly.' According to him, to continue negotiations he needs to 'see enthusiasm in the desire to end this' from both sides.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the patience of the United States in negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine is running out. Trump confirmed that Rubio 'is right', although he suggested a less harsh approach.
