Trump used assassination attempts on his life to benefit his campaign — media.

The replacement of President Joe Biden with Kamala Harris changed the course of the race.
The replacement of President Joe Biden with Kamala Harris caused a change in the election course. Democratic ratings increased as Harris leads Donald Trump in many polls. However, behind this fact lies a number of far-reaching consequences of the assassination attempts on Trump for the campaign, notes David Charter, assistant editor of The Times.
Firstly, after the first attempt, Trump's rating immediately increased by three points, even if this did not reflect in a direct confrontation with Biden. Secondly, Trump took advantage of the attempt on his life to nullify the attack of the Democratic Party, which considered him a threat to democracy. The ex-president also came up with a new slogan that first sounded in Michigan on July 20: 'I took a bullet for democracy'.
Thirdly, this event turned into a counterattack against the Democrats who, according to them, actually support potential killers. Moreover, the assassination attempts on Trump were also successfully used to invigorate fundraising among small donors, which had initially slowed down.
Veteran political scientist Frank Luntz believes that the main result of the attempts was the strengthening of support from Trump's core electorate, which means that the consequences could be most noticeable after election day on November 5.
