A minute of silence announcements have started in Kyiv's transport in memory of the victims of the war with Russia. The sounds of announcements can be heard at nineteen metro stations, as well as special stickers placed for underground and above-ground transport.
The head of the commission for culture, tourism, and information policy, Viktoriya Mukha, reported that announcements are made at 19 metro stations, as well as at Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Khreshchatyk. Information will also be provided in above-ground transport.
The city administration is cooperating with advertising structure owners to inform passengers about the minute of silence.
In the city's above-ground transport, 450 informational stickers about the minute of silence are planned to be placed. Currently, there is no sound notification system, but such a possibility is being considered for the future.
Acting General Director of KP 'Kyivpastrans' Tetiana Taras'ko reported that announcements in the above-ground transport will be made from 8:50 to 9:00 AM when the bus approaches the stop. Then the transport will continue to move.
Taras'ko also urged residents and guests of the city to observe this ritual in honor of the fallen.
