Ukraine and Turkey will soon complete the ratification of the free trade agreement that was initiated in 2007 and signed before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by the head of the Turkish-Ukrainian Businessmen's Association (TUİD) Burak Pehlivan.
'Turkey ratified the agreement in 2024. We are awaiting the ratification of the agreement by Ukraine,' Pehlivan noted.
Pehlivan pointed out that the volume of trade between the two countries continues to grow.
'The free trade agreement is a common opportunity for both of us. We must do everything possible to increase this common 'pie.' Ukraine has always been in a positive balance, while Turkey has had a positive foreign trade balance for the first Time in 33-34 years,' Pehlivan emphasized.
According to him, entering into the agreement is the right step in economic relations between the countries. However, the success of the process also depends on ceasefire processes and achieving peace.
