Ukraine returned the first bodies of Russians thrown by the Russian Federation during the exchange.


The Ukrainian side returned to the Russian Federation the bodies of two servicemen found during the procedures of repatriation of the deceased. According to Igor Klymenko, personal military tags from the Russian Armed Forces were found on the bodies.
The return of the bodies of two Russian servicemen by Ukraine indicates adherence to humanitarian principles in the repatriation of the deceased. The Ukrainian side conducted all necessary checks, examinations, and expert evaluations. After that, according to humanitarian principles and agreements on repatriation, the bodies were officially handed over to the Russian side.
Ukraine currently has no information on whether the Russian side has informed the relatives of the deceased about the return of the bodies. It is known that the Russian authorities may try to reduce compensation payments to the families of the deceased and may conceal facts about the repatriation or even dispose of the bodies.
