Ukraine won its first medal at the U17 European Wrestling Championship.


At the U17 European Wrestling Championship, taking place in Skopje, North Macedonia, the Ukrainian team has won its first medal. Greco-Roman wrestler Anatoliy Novachenko became the bronze medalist in the 110 kg category, defeating Mateusz Jaroslaw Tomelek from Poland with a score of 5:0.
The competitions are ongoing, and the next matches are already awaiting the Ukrainian athletes. Timur Larin will enter the gold final, and three more Ukrainian wrestlers will compete in the repechage rounds. Competitions in the women's category will also start today.
In the previous European Championship for adults in arm wrestling, held in Cluj-Napoca, the Ukrainian team showed impressive results. Based on the results of the competitions, the team took third place overall, winning 9 medals in various weight categories. In the youth and junior age categories, Ukrainian athletes won 56 medals, including 13 golds, 15 silvers, and 28 bronzes.
The Ukrainian team in U17 wrestling has won its first medal at the European Championship, but the competition continues, and we hope for further successes of our athletes.
