Ukraine can build 4 GW of wind energy by 2030 if the debt crisis is resolved – investors.

Ukraine intends to build 4 GW of wind farms by 2030 to implement the National Renewable Energy Plan. This was announced by Andriy Konechenkov, head of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association.
«The wind energy market is ready to fulfill the National Plan», - said Konechenkov.
He explained that investors already have projects for the construction of wind farms, with a total capacity of 4 GW.
However, the main obstacle to implementing this plan may be debts to producers of green energy. Konechenkov emphasized that debts began to grow in 2019 and reached UAH 35 billion by the end of 2024.
The already approved transmission tariff for «Ukrenergo» will help avoid new debts to producers in 2025.
However, experts believe that for the rapid development of distributed energy, Ukraine needs to quickly resolve the debt issue with investors, which exceeds UAH 34 billion.
