Ukrainians can pay half as much for electricity: who will have access to the discount starting from May.

The electricity tariff for household consumers in Ukraine will remain unchanged at 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour in May 2025. Some citizens will be able to take advantage of preferential payment conditions. This is reported by '24 Kanal'.
Owners of two-zone meters are given significant opportunities for savings. During the day (from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.), a standard tariff of 4.32 UAH/kWh applies, while at night (from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), the cost of electricity is reduced by half to 2.16 UAH/kWh.
For residents of houses without centralized heating, who heat their homes with electric heaters, there have also been benefits during the heating season. They paid a reduced tariff of 2.64 UAH/kWh.
However, with the end of the heating season, this discount is no longer valid. Benefits are also provided for participants in combat operations who have the right to early retirement due to age and relevant conditions.
In the meantime, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a draft law that establishes new rules regarding the use of benefits for payment of housing and communal services.
In a conversation with a government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk reported that beneficiaries now need to use the funds provided to them exclusively for paying for services they consume every month. If these funds are not used for their intended purpose, the Cabinet may impose additional conditions under which benefits may be suspended.
