Ukrainian biomethane can become part of the new architecture of energy security in Europe.

Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk believes that biomethane can be an instrument for restructuring the gas market in Europe. He expressed his opinion during a conference on biomethane.
'Europe and Ukraine are at a crossroads regarding strategies for ensuring energy security. Some European countries still import gas from Russia. Biofuels can be part of the 'green transformation' and contribute to the energy security of the continent. Ukraine has great potential in the field of biomethane and can help Europe achieve its goals under the 'Fit for 55' strategy and the 'RePowerEU' program,' emphasized Mykola Kolisnyk.
Recently it became known that Ukraine has started exporting biomethane to the European Union for the first Time. The country is developing the biomethane sector, cooperating with the EU, actively implementing new technologies, and receiving support to ensure energy security and support the 'green transformation' of the continent.
Ukraine plays an important role in the development of biomethane as one of the instruments for restructuring the gas market in Europe. The country’s significant potential in this field can contribute to reducing dependence on Russian gas and ensuring the stability of Europe’s energy system, while also promoting ecological development.
