The government has approved the concept of a program for studying English in Ukraine until 2030.


According to a statement from government representative Taras Melnychuk, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the concept of the State Program to support the study and use of the English language until 2030. The new program aims to raise the level of English knowledge among citizens and involves large-scale reforms in this area.
«The Concept of the State Target National-Cultural Program for the support of the study and implementation of the English language in Ukraine for the period from 2026 to 2030 has been approved, which outlines strategic directions, goals, and tasks to improve the level of English proficiency among the population of Ukraine by creating favorable conditions for institutional, financial, and human resources to implement the program measures,» the statement says.
The concept discusses strategic directions, goals, and tasks for improving English knowledge among Ukrainians. The Cabinet of Ministers has previously pointed out the need for specialists in the field of education who are proficient in English.
Recent changes in legislation
Previously, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, signed a bill on the use of the English language in Ukraine. This law will ensure intellectual, cultural, and spiritual development for every citizen.
According to the bill, English will receive the status of an international communication language in Ukraine. It also includes mandatory English language learning in kindergartens and final assessment in English for school students. Additionally, financial support for learning English is being introduced.
