Harvest exceeded forecasts: how much wheat, barley, peas have already been collected.


The press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported that more than 31.9 million tons of grain and oilseeds have already been harvested in Ukraine.
This year's harvest exceeded forecasts. For example, 21.7 million tons of wheat were threshed, harvested from 4846.1 thousand hectares. Barley harvesting was also completed from the planned area, and 5.5 million tons were threshed. From an area of 207.6 thousand hectares, 458.5 thousand tons of peas were harvested.
Also, 3.4 million tons of rapeseed were threshed from an area of 1227.6 thousand hectares.
Odessa region leads in the volumes of grain harvesting; in fact, 1075.7 thousand hectares of sown areas have already been processed there. Khmelnytsky region, in turn, has the highest yield – 65.5 q/ha.
Dnipropetrovsk region has started harvesting soybeans, and farmers in Mykolaiv region have started harvesting sunflowers.
As of August 16, the total volume of the harvested crop amounted to 31.82 million tons. Of these, 28.5 million tons are grain crops, and 3.4 million tons are oilseeds.
Given the success in harvesting, an increase in the export of Ukrainian wheat is forecast.
