In Odesa, a soldier stole whiskey and a bicycle – what punishment.


In Odesa, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the materials of the Unified State Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, stole a bicycle and whiskey right on the streets of the city. The soldier admitted guilt, but the court decided to impose a real prison term and a significant fine.
The military robbed a store
On March 2, a serviceman who held the position of anti-aircraft gunner in one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine committed two thefts in the center of Odesa. The first theft was a bottle of expensive whiskey from the 'Silpo' store on Yevreyska Street. A bicycle worth over 5 thousand hryvnias was stolen near the business center in Hretska Square.
What punishment for theft
The soldier admitted his guilt and expressed genuine remorse, however, the court found that this was not his first offense. In connection with this and the presence of a previous conviction and recidivism, he was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month of imprisonment and a fine of 35,360 hryvnias.
As a result, in Odesa, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was sentenced to five years and one month of imprisonment, as well as a fine of over 35 thousand hryvnias for the theft of a bicycle and whiskey.
