In Ukraine, the age of drivers has been limited: at what age you cannot get behind the wheel.


Age restrictions for drivers have been established in Ukraine
The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported that there are certain age requirements for drivers of different categories of vehicles in Ukraine. Violating these requirements carries the same responsibility regardless of the type of transport.
To legally operate any vehicle in Ukraine, it is absolutely necessary to have the appropriate driver's license. The age restrictions for obtaining a license are defined as follows:
- From 16 years old, it is allowed to drive mopeds and motorcycles
- From 18 years old – passenger cars and trucks
- From 19 years old – vehicles with trailers and articulated vehicles
- From 21 years old – buses
To obtain a driver's license, it is necessary to successfully pass theoretical and practical exams at the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Individuals who have not reached the established age for the respective category of vehicles will not be issued a driver's license.
- From 18 years old it is allowed to drive quad bikes, passenger cars, and trucks up to 7.5 tons.
- From 19 years old – it is allowed to drive vehicles with heavy trailers.
- From 21 years old – it is allowed to drive buses and minibuses.
In case of violation of age restrictions, fines are provided. For example, a 16-year-old driver operating a vehicle without the necessary documents faces a fine of 3400 hryvnias. If a child under 16 years old is behind the wheel, the responsibility and fine fall on their parents.
Recently, there was also information about a large fine for consuming alcohol in a parked car.
