Twice as expensive: analysts compared the cost of a borscht set in Poland and Ukraine.


Analysis of the cost of a borscht set in Ukraine and Poland
According to the analytical center Gremi Personal, the cost of the set of products for cooking borscht in Ukraine is lower than in Poland. The Ukrainian set costs 169.7 hryvnias, while the Polish one is 306.9 hryvnias (29.02 zlotys).
The set includes pork, beets, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, garlic, tomato paste, sour cream, greens, and spices.
According to Gremi Personal's recruitment department director Hanna Dzobolda, Ukraine has lower food prices due to the difference in the standard of living and average income of the population.
The minimum wage in Poland reaches 4300 zlotys before taxes, which is about 738 dollars. After paying taxes, this amount is approximately 3060 zlotys. Ukraine, on the other hand, has a minimum salary of approximately 8000 hryvnias before taxes, which is about 200 dollars. After taxation, the worker receives 6440 hryvnias.
It is noted that for an accurate analysis of the cost of living difference between Ukraine and Poland, it is necessary to consider prices, incomes, and expenses to get a complete picture of the wellbeing of the population in both countries.
