The Vice President of the United States, Jay D. Vance, spoke in Washington at a forum organized by the Munich Security Conference, where he stated that the Russians are demanding too much in negotiations regarding the end of the war against Ukraine.
According to Vance, the United States is trying to understand the demands of Ukraine and Russia for ending the war; however, there is a significant gap between their positions. Vance emphasized the importance of both sides agreeing on common principles and starting a dialogue.
'The Russians demand a certain set of conditions, a certain set of concessions to end the conflict. We believe they are asking for too much',
In his speech, Vance noted that Ukraine's position is important, especially in the context of a ceasefire. He expressed disappointment regarding Russia's lack of agreement on a 30-day ceasefire, emphasizing that the United States is trying to focus on long-term conflict resolution issues.
Vance also pointed out that so much Time is spent discussing the history of the conflict in negotiations with both sides that it is necessary to move forward to end the war, which has a historical background.
