A renowned historian has predicted when we can expect a truce with Russia.

Predictions about a truce with Russia
Ukrainian historian and publicist Yaroslav Hrytsak believes that it may take a long Time from the start of negotiations to the announcement of a truce, so a ceasefire may not occur this year. However, he emphasizes that a truce is important for Ukraine as it increases the level of security.
Yaroslav Hrytsak compared the truce to the Minsk agreements, which, although they did not end the conflict, 'diminished its structure' and led to a reduction in the number of casualties.
The historian explained that a truce provides an opportunity to 'change the intensity of the conflict, to switch to a state where we can 'catch our breath and focus on something else'.
As Hrytsak noted, historians from Harvard University have developed scenarios for a possible end to the war in Ukraine, using historical experience. He emphasized that the start of negotiations between the warring parties does not mean an immediate declaration of a truce.
'Now a new genre of history has emerged - applied history. This is a genre that attempts to use knowledge of the past to make predictions about the future. There is now an entire center at Harvard. Last summer they developed scenarios for a possible end to the war in Ukraine based on historical experience. There are seven scenarios that I remember. They lean more towards Korean and Finnish scenarios,' he explained.
Hrytsak emphasized that inflated expectations regarding a truce can be harmful to society, as in case of their non-fulfillment, they deepen depression.
Earlier, Chief Sergeant of the 54th Brigade Maxim Butolin noted that discussions about peace and the imminent end of the war demotivate military personnel, especially the infantry, which is the most exhausted and worn out by combat actions.
It should be noted that a prominent historian explained that for Ukraine, victory in the war with Russia can have different meanings.
Publicist Yaroslav Hrytsak shares his predictions regarding a possible truce with Russia, emphasizing the importance of this step for enhancing Ukraine's security. He also stresses that realistic expectations and careful planning are key in the conflict resolution process.Read also
