Sexual Harassment at Shevchenko Grove
Yulia Krukivska, who visited the Shevchenko Grove in Lviv, reported that she became a victim of sexual harassment by a museum employee. An internal investigation has been launched, and the employee has been suspended from work.
During her visit to the museum for a ceramics exhibition, Yulia was invited to a workshop where she found herself alone with the employee. The man offered her alcohol and began to make advances. Krukivska noted that his proposal did not seem threatening, but she felt scared.
“We went into the house. He poured two glasses of vodka, took out cookies for a snack, and gave me a glass and a cookie. We drank... Then he said: ‘Let’s hug’, and came towards me, hugged me and began to press against me strongly, rubbing himself against me and saying: ‘You are such a skinny, pretty girl’.
The Museum of Folk Architecture and Life has started an internal investigation and suspended the employee from work. The local police have also begun an inquiry into this incident.
This case is just one of many instances of sexual harassment that women report on social media. Other victims are also sharing their stories under the hashtag ‘Don’t be silent’. The National Police draws attention to the signs of sexual harassment and continues to investigate similar cases.
