According to the survey results, 40% of Russians named the "events in the Kursk region" as the main event of the month. This indicates a significant resonance caused by the operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces among the Russian population. In addition, 12% of respondents noted the war against Ukraine as a key event.
Drone attacks on Belgorod and other border regions of Russia were remembered by 5% of respondents. The arrest of Pavel Durov, the founder of the social network VKontakte and the messenger Telegram, was noted by 3% of those surveyed. The Olympic Games in Paris and the exclusion of Russian athletes from participating in them were remembered by 2% of respondents.
The Levada-Center study was conducted from August 22 to 28, 2024, and covered 1,619 people. The survey was conducted through personal interviews with respondents in their homes, ensuring the high reliability of the results. The statistical error of the study does not exceed 3.4% with a probability of 0.95, indicating the high accuracy of the obtained data.
