Drivers with category B licenses are allowed to drive trucks, but there is a catch.

A Ukrainian court allowed drivers with category B licenses to operate vehicles C and C1 during martial law.
According to a decision made by the Kyiv Court of Appeal, published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions, a complaint was considered against the ruling of the Desnyansky District Court of Kyiv.
According to court documents, on August 13, a violation was recorded involving a man driving a Volkswagen T46 truck without the appropriate driver's license. This was a repeated offense, as the driver had previously driven without the required license category. There was a preliminary correspondence regarding administrative sanctions against this driver.
According to the court's decision, the man was convicted of violating Article 126 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and was fined 2400 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens and deprived of the right to drive vehicles for 5 years.
The judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal found that the police did not indicate in the protocol which category of driver's license the man should have had to drive the Volkswagen LT46. The driver only had a category B license.
According to amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 3, 2022, during martial law, drivers with categories C and C1 can operate vehicles in Ukraine if they have a driver's license of category C.
This resolution does not impose any restrictions on drivers and applies to all persons with a category B driver's license.
The driver's complaint was satisfied, the court canceled the ruling of the district court, and the case was closed.
The police reminded drivers and pedestrians about the importance of safety during the winter period.
