Zelensky discussed security and cooperation with the Prime Minister of Italy
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a phone conversation with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, during which they discussed security and cooperation with partners.
Zelensky informed Meloni about his contacts with the administration of the United States, particularly regarding a meeting with Vice President JD Vance and a conversation with President Trump.
The President emphasized that the most effective and economically advantageous security guarantee is NATO membership. He also stressed the importance of supporting the development of the Ukrainian army and capabilities until an invitation to the Alliance is received.
Zelensky also noted the necessity of coordinating defense and security strategies between Europe, the USA, and Ukraine before any negotiations begin. He pointed out that Europe needs to take an active part in peace talks and efforts to prevent future wars.
