Axes-wielding criminals committed a theft from a museum in Paris.

A theft of rare 18th-century items occurred at the Cognacq-Jay Museum in Paris. According to Le Parisien newspaper, the theft took place during museum hours, during which five collectible boxes and snuff boxes, approximately 300 years old, were stolen. Four masked and hooded robbers broke in, smashing display cases with axes and baseball bats.
The Paris City Hall reported that local police intervened immediately and no one was injured. The City Hall also condemned this targeted act of robbery. Psychological support was provided to participants in the incident as well as to museum visitors by a special group.
The Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the incident. It is worth recalling that recently there was a robbery of a jewelry store in Lyon, during which the robber used a forklift to smash the display window.
