According to the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), there has been a large-scale power outage today in Spain, as well as in some areas of France and Portugal.
Initial assumptions included the possibility of a cyberattack, however, preliminary conclusions from ENISA indicate that a technical or cable failure is the cause of the incident. The investigation into the causes of the blackout continues at the national level.
ENISA continues to work with national and European cybersecurity authorities and reports that the version about a technical or cable problem is currently the main one. International airports and telecommunications systems have also fallen victim to the power outage.
