Former military pilot sentenced to 15 years in prison: what he did.


A former military pilot who worked on Russia's space program has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with the confiscation of property. This decision was announced by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
According to the SBI, the former pilot of the aviation squadron of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who switched sides after the annexation of Crimea, received a sentence of 15 years in prison.
Before 2014, the military served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Crimea. However, after the annexation, he did not appear at the new military unit in Vinnytsia. At the Time of switching to the enemy's army, he had not been offered any high positions or ranks.
The SBI notes that the former military is now working as a test cosmonaut and crew flight engineer of the ISS-72/73 at the Gagarin Research and Training Center for Cosmonaut Training.
The Vinnytsia city court of Vinnytsia region found him guilty of state treason and desertion (part 1 of Article 111, part 1 of Article 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Earlier, cybersecurity specialists of the Security Service detained an agent of the Russian special services who attempted to carry out a series of terrorist attacks in Lviv. According to the investigation, this agent turned out to be a 23-year-old resident of Kyiv region, who agreed to collaborate with the enemy for $1,000. Among the occupiers' targets were the buildings of military enlistment offices and the main railway station in the city.
