Ministry of Defense is moving towards the creation of space forces.

The Ministry of Defense has established the Space Policy Directorate
The Ministry of Defense has created a new Space Policy Directorate for collaboration with military space technology developers, ordering the necessary equipment, and forming state policy in this area. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko.
We have initiated an institution that is to become the integrator of all solutions concerning military space... This directorate was launched this year... We have created the Space Policy Directorate - she noted.
According to Chernohorenko, the Ministry of Defense plans to be the main customer of military space technology and software for the needs of the Defense Forces.
We want the Ministry of Defense to be the impetus for the use of space developments in the armed forces and to engage in expertise for the formation of technical tasks - Chernohorenko explained.
Chernohorenko also emphasized the possibility of creating a new kind of troops related to space.
Ukraine is moving in the direction of creating space forces. Many of our partners are already developing this area. And, of course, our adversary is also actively working in this sphere. We need to provide such opportunities to our military - she noted.
Moreover, Chernohorenko reported that by 2030 Ukraine plans to have its own defense satellites and a system for air raid alerts and space control.
Purchase of a satellite for the Ukrainian army
The Serhiy Prytula Foundation raised 600 million UAH for drones 'Bayraktar' and instead purchased a satellite and access to a database of satellite images for the Ukrainian army.
The Strategic Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the ICEYE satellite purchased by the Serhiy Prytula Foundation will provide an important advantage to the Ukrainian army. The department also showed examples of images that can be obtained using this satellite.
However, there were criticisms expressing outrage that the funds raised for 'Bayraktars' were spent on other needs.
