Restart of the Zaporizhia NPP. 'Energoatom' warned about the danger.

The General Director of 'Energoatom' Petro Kotin stated that the restart of the occupied Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is dangerous for Russia. He emphasized that before the plant can operate safely, serious issues must be resolved, such as insufficient cooling water, personnel, and incoming electricity supply.
According to Kotin, the restart of the plant is possible only after the withdrawal of the occupation troops of the Russian Federation, demining, and demilitarization of the site. However, this process may take from two months to two years, provided there are no military threats. Currently, such a restart during the war is impossible for Russia.
Six reactors can only be put into operation after the completion of 27 security programs agreed with the Ukrainian nuclear regulator, including testing nuclear fuel in the active zones of the reactors, as it has exceeded the six-year design life.
Kotin noted that the Russian invaders used the nuclear power plant as a military base, placing equipment there, and possibly even weapons and explosives.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has information about a possible fuel spill stored at the warehouses for diesel generators at the occupied Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. The agency requires access to the fuel tanks to assess the situation.
It is also worth reminding that the occupiers forcibly evacuated the children of the Zaporizhia NPP employees to Russia to pressure the nuclear workers to continue working at the plant.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied information about his discussions with US President Donald Trump regarding the transfer of the Zaporizhia NPP or other nuclear power plants to US ownership.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation stated that the aggressor state does not consider the possibility of transferring the Zaporizhia NPP or control over it to Ukraine or any other country.
