PFU has started paying a new category: the first sick leave for 1090 hryvnias.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has paid sick leave for the first Time to a person working in several positions. The total amount of payment is 1090 hryvnias - 599 hryvnias for the primary job and 491 hryvnias for additional work.

An enterprise from the Zhytomyr region submitted a request for sick leave payment for an employee who was caring for a sick child. This woman works simultaneously in the positions of a metrologist and a safety engineer.

This became possible after changes in legislation that came into force on April 4, 2025.

Insured individuals are now entitled to receive sick leave payments both for their primary job and for additional work. The employer can submit one application reflecting the temporary disability for both positions or two separate applications.

New legislative changes do not limit the number of additional positions for which insured individuals can receive sick leave. These rules apply to insurance cases from April 4, 2025.

Special conditions apply to cases of temporary disability due to an accident. If the injured party has employment relationships with another insurer, this insurer pays for the first 5 days of sick leave, and from the 6th day, these payments are made by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
