The gender advisor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about her duties.

The gender advisor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oksana Hryhorieva, stated that her main job is to combat discrimination of any kind. She works with appeals from servicemen regarding sexual violence, sexism, and age discrimination.
Hryhorieva shared that her workday begins by reviewing the appeals that have come to her. She encounters stories where both men and women feel vulnerable. Appeals are sent both to the hotline and in writing.
The main task of the gender advisor is to develop strategic documents. Together with the Ministry of Defense, she works on the development of the Strategy for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
Oksana Hryhorieva also participates in the development of instructions for providing and reviewing reports of sexual violence. This document has not yet been approved.
Gender equality is part of Ukraine's National Security Strategy. It is one of the conditions for the country's accession to the European Union and NATO. The appointment of Oksana Hryhorieva as a gender advisor has been met with various reactions online, but some users support this decision and emphasize the importance of developing the institution of gender advisors for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
