Drivers warned about 'silent' fines: a new scheme revealed by the police.

New fraudulent scheme of fines on the roads
A new alarming trend is spreading on Ukrainian roads - drivers are increasingly encountering situations where they receive fines through the 'Diia' app, of which they were not even aware during the stop by patrol police. According to 'Road Lawyer', patrol officers stop drivers without indicating any violations, and later drivers receive fines in their personal accounts.
Lawyers categorically condemn this practice, emphasizing that issuing fines without the driver's presence violates the law. It is recommended to go to court to cancel illegal fines and conduct an investigation into the actions of the police officers, which may lead to their punishment.
The police officer must explain the essence of the violation, read the rights, and give the driver a chance to defend themselves
For their own safety, lawyers recommend recording video during every patrol stop. This will help protect their rights and prevent possible illegal actions by law enforcement. Moreover, it is important to remember to have an insurance policy in the vehicle.
