Lithuania stopped a transit Russian train with 'Z-symbols' at the border.

On October 2, a transit passenger train from Moscow to Kaliningrad arrived at the checkpoint at the Kena railway station in Lithuania, featuring symbols banned in the European country. This was reported today, October 3, by the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service (VSAT).
It is noted that border guards noticed symbols of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on one of the train cars, including the letter Z and the inscription ZOV. On another car, there was an inscription in Russian saying: "Vilnius is a city of Russia." The train staff could not explain to border guards where these inscriptions came from.
The train chief and his subordinates had to erase the inscriptions; otherwise, Lithuanian border guards refused to allow the cars to pass through the border. Only after cleaning the cars were the border guards allowed to continue the route.
Since the spring of 2022, Lithuania has banned the use of the so-called "St. George's" ribbons and the letters Z and V, which have become symbols of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
It should be noted that Lithuania has launched a campaign to combat recruitment, aimed at raising awareness among citizens about the dangers posed by hostile intelligence services. The campaign includes videos based on real cases, emphasizing that any citizen can become a target.
Prevention of Russians entering the Schengen Zone
As reported earlier, Lithuanian President's advisor Asta Skaisgirytė stated that European Union countries must find "legal solutions" to block Russians' entry into the Schengen Zone following visa relaxations by Hungary.
The concern for the Lithuanian authority representative stems from Hungary's recent decision to include Russia, Belarus, and several other countries in the "National Card" program. Its participants can obtain permission to work in the republic without undergoing security checks. However, there are no relaxations for ordinary tourists.
